Kia Ora hapū whānau!
Ko Dani tōku ingoa.
Ko Kai whakawhanau ahau.
My name is Dani, I’m a Māori midwife in Ōtautahi and whakapapa Ngāi Tahu, Te Atiawa o Te Waka-a-Māui, Ngāti Apa and Ngāti Rārua. Born and raised in Waitohi/ Picton, Waikawa marae is my tūrangawaewae.
I trained in Ōtepoti/Dunedin and have practiced in Ōtautahi/Christchurch since!
I have worked as a core midwife, a community LMC predominantly birthing in a primary unit or at home and now as a midwife clinical coach at Christchurch Women’s Hospital. My role is to be a kaitiaki for our new midwives and student midwives at the DHB and nurture them to be their best selves! I am the kaituhi for Māori Midwives ki Tahu and a member of Ngā Maia.
